Eugene claims maiden BSB podium at Donny.

Eugene McManus Jnr claimed his maiden BSB podium this afternoon with an incredible performance at the Donington Park Circuit.

After falling during qualifying, he was pushed back to 15th on the grid for race one with plenty of riders in front of him After a brilliant start off the the line and In sensational style the Wee Bull stormed through the pack and move quickly into 7th position. With Richard Kerr crashing out of third position it was left to Eugene and Storm Stacey to fight for the remaining podium.

It was nip and tuck for the remaining 5 laps with Eugene sneaking third place on the line just 0.001 ahead. Tom Booth Amos claimed the win, his first for Team City Lifting ahead of Taz Taylor in 2nd.

An emotional Eugene Senior added;

" This was an incredible performance and I am so proud of Eugene today, I have to be honest we didn't expect him to do that from 15th on the grid, just fantastic!! He's worked hard through the winter, every day at the family business then training with Paddy (Spartan Fitness Belfast) and Glenn Irwin in the evening's, he deserves this podium for his desire and bravery (after tipping off this morning) I have never seen a young man so determined to succeed, we are all so proud"

When asked about the race a stunned Eugene Jnr added ;

"Buzzing, just buzzing!!" I have to thank everyone involved with the team and those behind the scenes helping with my preparation, the sponsors, some who were here today cheering me on, everyone its just awesome"

Eugene moves up to 6th on the grid for race 2 tomorrow, scheduled to start at 14.55pm.

Everyone at E15 will be there hopefully to see a repeat of today's performance.
