E15 Racing and Eugene McManus Jnr travel to Brands Hatch this Easter weekend for Round 2 of The Hel Performance Motostar British Championship.
Leading the championship after round 1, Eugene jnr is determined to challenge for a win and dedicate it to his grandfather who was recently taken ill. Danny McManus used to sponsor Road Racing Legend Alan Irwin and under the McManus banner Irwin won over 200 races on an RG500 and later with a RS500 triple Honda. Danny was instrumental in the family passion for racing and Eugene Snr was quick to praise both his father and Alan;
" He's the reason we are all involved in racing, I grew up watching Alan and he talked my dad into letting me start. Dad sponsored Alan and Richard Hewitt built the winning engines for both Irwin and TT winner Lowry Burton so it brings back happy memories for us all. It was great to see Richard and Alan at Donington who were there to see Eugene Jnr gain his first podium and celebrate with us"
In 2016 Eugene was placed 15th in race 1 and 12th in race 2 at the corresponding Brands Hatch Round so the team are confident he can improve on last season's performances.
Eugene Senior added;
" After a stay in hospital Dad's condition has improved and the whole team wish him a speedy recovery, Eugene would love to win and dedicate it to his Granda. We are looking for a top 10 finish with consistent lap times and to complete both races at Brands would be good, anything after that would be a bonus!"
