Round 11 Preview - Assen

E15 Racing and Eugene McManus Junior take on the thrilling Cathedral of Speed TT Circuit in Assen this weekend. The Wee Bull currently sits fifth in The Hel Performance Motostar British Championship but could close the gap to Richard Kerr in fourth with a couple of solid results.

In the corresponding 2016 dutch round McManus finished 19th and 7th respectively in the two races. 2017 form however suggests a massive leap up the grid for the Randalstown ace providing he continues to learn and develop his race craft as he has done all season.

Returning to Assen with very little track experience around the 2.83 mile circuit will be difficult for many of the British Motostar teams so expect a dutch fightback from local boys Jorel Boerboom and Mike Brouwers, both are expected to put on a good show for the home fans.

The championship itself may be settled this weekend by Eugene's fellow RS Racing stable mates Tom Booth Amos and Jake Archer. The Team City Lifting riders cannot be caught and Booth Amos has a 52 point cushion over his rival Archer. With wet conditions forecast this could turn out to be a real spectacle for all. Booth Amos has smashed several lap records on route to his 15 wins and may well be looking to beat the current TT motostar record of 1:46.144

McManus Junior is a confident rider in the wet so look out for The Wee Bull to make his move!

Free Practice 1 starts on friday at 9.00am with FP2 at 14.00pm. Qualifying is at 11.30am on Saturday morning with Race 1 at 14.25pm. The action concludes on Sunday with Race 2 earlier than normal at 11.30am.

In other news.....Eurosport tv recently did a spoof video clip to ridicule Liverpool's poor start to the football season. Using the footage from Silverstone (where Eugene's ktm failed to start on the grid), Jurgen Klopps head was placed onto The Wee Bulls.

Unfortunately for Eurosport they didn't realise that Eugene and his family are avid Manchester United supporters and in the world of football rivalries this is considered high treason and punishable by public ridicule :-)

Eugene senior was determined to prove a point and tongue firmly in cheek stated; "Under no circumstances are we Kloppites so look out for Junior's new helmet design this weekend in Assen, lets hope Eurosport see the funny side of their mistake !! We will set the record straight once and fall all"

We will have exclusive images of the new helmet design here tomorrow morning for everyone to see.
