Round 1 Preview - Here we go!!!

This weekend (31 March - 2nd April ) sees the return of the British Superbike Championship, under a new title sponsor with Bennett's returning to the BSB paddock.

Eugene McManus Junior will start this campaign in the new support series called British GP2 riding a Kalex moto2, to gain valuable experience in the 600cc class. With the first round of the Motostar Championship not starting until we visit Brands Indy in a fortnight, Eugene has been given the green light to race in this exciting concept series. The British Supersport and British GP2 categories will race side by side and be separately classified, together with a background classification to see who is the best of the best. This years focus will always be on the Moto3 Motostar series but round 1 at Donny gives the wee bull a chance to see what he can do on the bigger machinery;

Eugene Jnr

"I'm ready for my ass whooping :-) but looking forward to riding in the Supersport / GP2 class for the first time. With so much talent and experience in this field I want to watch and learn from some of the best. I'm not in this class to battle at the front it's purely for more time on the bike and to develop my riding style, Unless you turn the timing sheets upside down then I might be in contention at the top for a podium!! I must thank all my sponsors for giving me an opportunity to race in 2018 and obviously thanks to my family and the team for their support"

With the weather forecast looking on the wet and cold side, this should be a testing opening round for all classes and may throw up some surprises over the Easter weekend. You can watch racing live on Eurosport 2 from 14.30pm on Sunday with Monday's race day coverage starting at midday. Everyone at E15 Racing would like to wish all teams and riders an exciting but safe season in 2018!!!
