Eugene McManus Junior returns to action this coming weekend as he visits Thruxton for Round 5 of The Hel Performance Motostar British Championship. ( Round 7 of The Bennett's British Superbikes 3-5th August 2018 )
Thruxton near Andover in Hampshire, is one of The Wee Bull's favourite circuits and last season he produced two of his finest performances here, as he battled with the Team City Lifting riders Tom Booth Amos and Jake Archer for podium honours. McManus Junior delivered his first Motostar win in a thrilling Race 1, only to see his victory celebrations cut short in parc ferme. Race control deemed McManus had made a pass during a yellow flag so Tom Booth Amos was elevated to P1.
In Race 2 he battled at the sharp end before crashing out on the final lap allowing Archer the top spot when McManus looked set for a win.

McManus Junior will be determined to produce the same form this weekend and again faces the home grown talent of Andover's Jake Archer, who is leading the 2018 Championship, with Storm Stacey, Asher Durham and Ed Rendell all odds on to be in the hunt for trophies.
Thruxton is one of the fastest circuits on the British Superbike Championship calendar and one which has hosted events as varied as World Endurance motorcycles, European F2 cars and trucks.
Originally built in 1940 as RAF Thruxton, a World War II airfield and home to both the RAF and USAF, the site was used for troop-carrying aircraft and gliders during the D-Day landings.
Friday's Motostar FP1 is at 11.00 – 11.25 followed by Free Practice 2 at 15.30 – 15.55. Qualifying takes place on Saturday morning at 09.35 – 10.05 with Race 1 due to start at 15.20 pm. Sundays 14 lap feature race will round up the weekend's racing at 14.55.
