Silverstone Preview - Motostar Round 7

Eugene Mcmanus Junior returns to action this weekend, (7-9th September) as The Bennett’s British Superbike Championship rolls into Silverstone.

The iconic Northamptonshire circuit has been the subject of some high profile criticism, after the recent British Grand Prix was cancelled, due to the relayed surface not having sufficient capacity to withstand a rainstorm. The motogp officials called off the premier event for the first time since 1980.

After careful consideration, BSB supremo Stuart Higgs has decided to run this weekend's event on the much shorter national circuit to avoid a similar outcome and ensure the timetable runs to schedule. With 3 BSB showdown races and plenty of support classes in action this should ensure a fantastic weekends racing goes ahead whatever the weather.

The Wee Bull and his fellow Motostar riders will have little or no experience and data from the smaller track layout, but no doubt be keen to put it through its paces come friday morning’s FP1.

Racing on the National circuit will definitely level the playing field so some unexpected results could be on the cards.

In last seasons visit to Silverstone, Mcmanus Junior collected an unfortunate DNF in race 1 followed by a brilliant 4th place finish in race 2.

The Wee Bull is targeting a top 5 finish and is excited to try out a new layout;

"It's not ideal going into a race weekend having not ridden a track but I'm enjoying my riding again and really looking forward to the challenge, It's still Silverstone and I love it there. We have three rounds left so I'm going to enjoy myself and give it my all"
