James McManus takes a race victory at Mondello Park

James McManus was at Mondello Park this weekend in a three race Junior Supersport class event.

He took pole in qualifying with a fastest lap of 1:01.727.

In Race one he took the race victory finishing 2.5 seconds ahead of his nearest rival. His fastest lap of the race just a couple of tenths off his qualifying time.

The second race didn’t go according to plan. Unfortunately, another rider appeared to make an error taking James McManus with him at the first turn at the start of lap six.

In the final race he got the better of Rhys Coates, the both of them on Kawasaki 400 machines. McManus took the lead at turn three on the third lap where he slid underneath Coates and into first place.

MaManus pushed on building a five second lead over the remainder of the race for what was thought to be his second victory of the weekend. However, a small movement on the start line before lights out meant he incurred a twenty second penalty. As a result, he was classified second at the end of the race.

All in all, a successful weekend for James McManus on his Kawasaki 400 in the Junior Supersport class.
