James rewarded with more points at Thruxton

Randalstown racer picked up more points at Thruxton in the British Supersport championship. James finished 13th in the first event going on to take 12th in the second.

James was faced with a wet but slowly drying track at Thruxton on Saturday morning. James had to compete in the first qualifying session to try and make it into Q2.

James McManus completed ten laps on wet tyres finishing as the fastest British Supersport rider in Q1. The younger McManus brother then swapped his wet rear tyre for an intermediate as track conditions improved in Q2. In the second qualifying session James posted the 23rd fastest lap time and 17th in the British Supersport class.

Sprint Race (12-laps)

The number 14 of James McManus actually started from 22nd on the grid and made good ground in the opening laps. James was in a large group of riders in 18th position and 14th in the Supersport class. He put in some very consistent lap times eventually setting his fastest laps in the race’s closing stages. He was placed 13th at the flag.

Feature Race (18-laps)

For the 18-lap Feature Race, James lined up in the middle of row 7 in 19th.

James McManus gained three places on the opening lap before a safety car halted further progress. After the safety car pulled in James ran off the track at the chicane on lap four but recovered well to take 12th at the flag at the end of the 18-lap Feature Race. In the process, he also set his fastest lap of the weekend.
