Two more top ten finishes for Eugene

A tenth place finish in race one on Saturday and an 8th on Sunday saw Eugene McManus complete a very solid weekend at Oulton Park in the British Supersport Championship.

Free Practice

With track conditions far from ideal in free practice one, the team and Eugene McManus decided to sit out the first session. In free practice two McManus suffered a technical issue which mean the only managed to complete 7 laps. He finished Friday 12th overall.

Qualifying

On Saturday morning Eugene McManus went out for the 25-minute qualifying session. Having not competed in free practice one due to the track conditions and then suffering from a technical problem in FP2 McManus was on the back foot going into qualifying.


Fluctuating between 12th and 14th positions throughout the session the Completely Motorbikes / Affinity Sports Academy rider would eventually finish 13th (14th on the combined British Supersport/GP2 grid).

Race One

On Saturday afternoon Eugene McManus lined up 14th when the British Supersport and GP2 riders lined up for the 12-lap Sprint race.

He set a fastest lap of 1:39.725 as he went on to cross the finish line tenth at the flag.

Race Two

For the 12-lap Feature Race, McManus lined up 15th on the grid. He made a fantastic start moving up 7 places on the opening lap.


He managed to reach as high as 6th position and set his fastest lap of the whole weekend (1:39.108). The Kawasaki rider battled hard with three other riders for track position. These riders traded places over several laps in the closing stages of the race with McManus finally crossing the finish line in 8th place.

After another very positive weekend Eugene McManus is seventh in the British Supersport Championship on 126 points.
