Two top tens at Thruxton for Eugene

Eugene McManus finished Thruxton with a tenth-place finish in the Sprint Race on Saturday. He then followed that up with an 8th in the Feature race on Sunday.

Qualifying

The Completely Motorbikes /Affinity Sports Academy rider Eugene McManus faced a wet but slowly drying track at Thruxton on Saturday morning. Eugene had qualified directly into Q2.

The number 15 initially went out on a wet front and intermediate rear. He later pulled in to switch to an intermediate front and slick rear as track conditions improved. Eugene qualified 15th on the grid and 14th in the British Supersport category.

Sprint Race (12-laps)

Eugene McManus made some initial progress from his grid position of 14th. He was battling hard with two other British Supersport riders. Having set some fast early laps Eugene was hovering around the top ten. He crossed the line 11th, however, after a regulation infringement by another rider his position was adjusted to 10th.

Feature Race (18-laps)

For the 18-lap Feature Race, Eugene McManus started 12th on the grid.

Eugene got away from the line well moving up to 8th before a safety car was deployed for an early incident.

After the safety car pulled in Eugene struggled to make further progress slipping back to tenth at one stage before going on to cross the line for an 8th place finish.
