Young motorcycle rider of the year

At a star-studded Irish Motorcyle Awards ceremony last night, James McManus was presented with the Young MotorcycleMotorcycle Rider of The Year Award.

This was in recognition of the superb 2022 season he enjoyed riding for Completely Motorbikes / Affinity Sports Academy. A season that saw him take 5 race victories, a total of 9 podiums from 16 races.

After a third place in the second race at Silverstone in the opening round, James repeated the feat in the first race on the Donington National circuit in round two. He then went on to take his first-ever British Junior Supersport Championship in the second race at Donington.

The young rider from Randaltowns then went on to make it a hat-trick of race victories by picking up the double on the Donington GP circuit in July.

His other two victories came at Oulton Park in race 12 of the season and then again at Donington on the GP circuit at the beginning of October.
