Round 6 Preview - Brands Hatch

The Wee Bull in action last season at Brands

Eugene McManus Junior returns to action this weekend 21 - 23 July at Brands Hatch putting the disappointment of Round 5 at Snetterton firmly behind him.

After being ruled out on medical advice last time out, the Wee Bull has been declared fit to ride and will be easing himself back into the Motostar paddock. Last season's Round 7 proved unsuccessful with two DNF's on the GP Layout but Eugene is under orders to just enjoy this weekend and not push too soon;

"This weekend is all about chilling and getting back into riding the bike, I have put the last round behind me but Brands will be used to fine tune and I will be happy with two steady finishes. The focus will be on Thruxton in a few weeks time when I will be back pushing hard at the sharp end"

Eugene now sits fifth in the Hel Performance British Motostar Championship a massive 84 points behind leader Jake Archer and knows a good points haul and podium finishes can put him back in top 3 contention, however the team have told him to take it easy this time out. Eugene fared better in the final round of 2016 at Brands finishing 6th around the 2.43 mile circuit so has the experience to run with the front runners. Eugene senior updated team HQ with his advice for The Wee Bull;

Eugene Senior;

" After the off at Snetterton we have given junior time to recover, you can never be too careful with head injuries so we have taken all necessary precautions. We would like to thank Arai Helmets, Stuart Higgs and the medical team again for looking after Eugene"

" We don't want Eugene pushing too soon so this weekend we are looking for two solid finishes, nothing more.. we have another six rounds left and let's not forget this is still only his second season at this level, he is gaining valuable experience at each event and his time will surely come"

This weekends action starts on Friday 11.10 – 11.40 for Free Practice 1, with FP2 scheduled for 16.10 – 16.40. Qualifying takes place on Saturday morning 09.00 – 09.30 with Race 1 at 15.20. We finish with Race 2 on Sunday at 14.40.
