Round 8 Preview - Cadwell Park

Eugene smoothly over the mountain in 2016

Randalstown star Eugene McManus returns to action this weekend 18-20th August at Cadwell Park in Lincolnshire for round 8 of the Hel Performance British Motostar Championship.

With very little experience around this complex circuit, Eugene successfully navigated two finishes in 2016 and will be determined to take on the front runners this time around. His form going into this event is pretty breathtaking with six podium finishes this season and the trophy haul could have been significantly larger but for one or two unfortunate DNF's.

Consistency and podium places could yet propel The Wee Bull above third place man Storm Stacey with just 25 points separating them in the championship. Eugene Senior still isn't getting carried away;

"I think we are just looking for a consistency and maturity... the boy has made huge steps this season and it would be unreasonable to expect him to keep progressing at every round, he's come a long way in just 7 rounds it's a fantastic achievement which we are delighted with"

The wee bull leading the charge

Eugene Jnr;

"This weekend is gong to be tough after Thruxton as it's a completely different type of circuit.

Cadwell requires total focus and respect, I love the track and believe I can go fast there and challenge at the front. Thruxton didn't finish how I wanted it to after race 2 and last weekend I spent my time at the Ulster GP watching and learning... I cant wait to get back out on my bike and show what I am capable of."

This weekend may well end up with a familiar pattern as the RS Racing trio battle it out up front, Team City Lifting Riders Tom Booth Amos and Jake Archer have tested recently at Cadwell and are in top form, Ed Rendell goes well too and with Richard Kerr and Storm Stacey always in the mix it should be an exciting weekends racing for Team E15...

The Wee Bull Timetable: Free Practice 1 starts on Friday at 11.15am with FP2 at 14.40pm. Qualifying starts early on Saturday at 9.30am with Race 1 at 14.40pm, we conclude with Race 2 on Sunday at 14.55pm. ( live on Eurosport2 )
